Obama Afghan Chart

This is a work in progress for the Knitters for Obama Ravelry Group.

Step One - The Chart

Step Two: The Yarn

Suggested fiber is Lion Brand's Wool-Ease.

Logo: White #620-100, Ranch Red # 620-102, Deft Blue #620-116

Background: Navy #620-111

Knit Guage: 18 St sts + 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size 8 (5mm) needles

The Afghan will be knit in strips using Logo chart #1 from right to left horizontally. All sts in garter stitch. End each row in a slip stitch selvedge. Here are a couple of links that explain this method:

Step Three: Knit

Slip-stitch instructions: Knit to the last stitch of each row, slip the stitch knitwise, and then turn your work. At the beginning of the next row slip the first stitch, knit to the last stitch on that row and then slip the stitch. You're going to do this on every row to create the slip-stitch selvedge.

Strips #1, 2, 15, and 16
Lion Brand Wool-Ease Navy Blue.
Cast on 20 sts and k for 64 inches.

Strip #3
Cast on 20 sts in Navy Blue. K for 20 inches.
Change to Red and k for 4 inches.
Change to White and k for 4 inches.
Change to Red and k for 4 inches.
Change to Deft Blue and k for 12 inches
Change to Navy Blue and k for 20 inches.

Strip #4
Cast on 20 sts in Navy Blue and k for 16 inches.
Change to White and k for 4 inches.
Change to Ranch Red and k for 4 inches.
Change to White and k for 4 inches.
Change to Ranch Red and k for 4 inches.
Change to Deft Blue and k for 16 inches.
Change to Navy Blue and k for 16 inches.

New Template

I'm liking the clean look of this template. Not super customizable, but very nice all the same. Still deciding between using Blogger or Wordpress because my Wordpress blog is all a shambles right now. Soooo . . . . what do you think?

Deciding

I've used wordpress for quite some time for my blogging needs. I'm in the process of either doing some major revamping or switching over to blogspot. The only thing I don't like about blogspot is the lack of a dynamic website. I can't create other pages. So, that might be my deciding point right there.
